The Telework Association has launched a crowdfunding project to fund an update of the Telework Handbook.

It aims to raise £10,000 to fund a complete rewrite of the book, through online crowdfunding website Kickstarter. The publication is a guide for individuals and managers on home working, and was originally published twenty years ago.

The book covers most aspects of working from home and the new edition will explain the latest legislation as well as suggest ways of using technology to support all aspects of flexible working. The new version will be available as both a paperback and eBook in 2015.

Chris Ridgewell, chairman of the Telework Association, said the book is still needed as many organisations are muddling through when it comes to home working. “Despite two decades of providing advice and support on flexible and home based working – teleworking – there is still a need for a reference book to help individuals and managers do it successfully,” he said.
